Highlights at InfoComm 2014

InfoComm is the largest professional audio-visual show in North America. Held at the cavernous Las Vegas Convention Center from June 14-20, InfoComm was the ideal place to make AV purchasing decisions, connect with contacts and learn principles that will boost an organisation’s effectiveness. The biggest trends in audio-visual on the exhibition floor this year included network-based audio, digital signage and the growing momentum of 4K screens. Here are some of the most interesting products displayed at InfoComm this year.

Professional Outdoor LED display by Panasonic

This rugged, high brightness 47-inch LED display is ideal for outdoor digital signage applications including digital menu boards, outdoor transportation stations as well as a variety of outdoor entertainment venues. Full 2,000 cd/m2 brightness and a wide IPS viewing angle enable the display to maintain excellent visibility from any angle and even under direct sunlight. With features such as impact-resistant front glass, aluminum chassis that is resistant to corrosion and IP55 dust and water-resistance, it is capable of operating in harsh environmental conditions such as heat, humidity and extreme cold.

FlexGlass In-wall by Screen Innovations
FlexGlass is the world’s first rollable glass projection screen with curve and custom capabilities, which makes it ideal for retail, in-window displays, exhibits, houses of worship, boardrooms, corporate lobbies, and more. Screen Innovations unveiled a new in-wall installation option for its FlexGlass rear projection screen material at InfoComm 2014. With FlexGlass In-wall, the screen can be inserted into the wall for a flush fit and finish.  The screen is first inserted into a rigid frame at the job site and then mounted into a pre-cut opening in the wall.

The MultiTaction iWall is a 5m x 2.5m turnkey interactive videowall solution comprising of 12 x 55” ultra-thin bezel MultiTaction displays with 24-megapixel resolution. It boasts leading-edge features made possible by MultiTouch’s patented Computer Vision Through Screen technology, including unlimited simultaneous users, concurrent touch, pen and 2D barcode tracking, Enriched Reality™ object recognition and MultiTaction Codice user identification. The iWall is capable of running multiple concurrent 4K videos and users are able to send all the content on MultiTaction iWall to their emails, directly from the screens.

Freestanding Whiteboard-Projection Screen by Elite Screens
The WB4X10HW is a 4’ x 10’ classroom projection screen that also serves the dual purpose as a magnetic dry-erase whiteboard. A freestanding mobile support can be attached to the screen to form a stable freestanding display. It is ideal for use with short-throw projectors and interactive white board projectors/pens in classrooms, conference rooms, and other training facilities. The screen material is coated with an optical nanotech resin that gives it a dry-erase function while eliminating the "glare" effect on projection surface as typically experienced on standard white boards.
