Fabric graphics have come a long way since
the days of fabric printing inks that lacked colour depth and light resistance
and basically didn’t look too visually appealing against existing exhibition
graphics. However, modern fabric graphic systems with improvements such as
saturated colours, fire resistant fabrics and the latest architectural systems
specifically designed for fabric graphics means that they can now more than
hold their own against hard surface graphic panels..
A few weeks ago I recommended printing
exhibition graphics on fabric if you are planning to reuse them. In this post I
will talk more in-depth about the advantages of fabric graphics and how you can
use them to maximize the impact of your stand.
Versatility
Fabric can be obtained in a multitude of
colours and can be painted or dyed as required, or you can even have your
company logo printed on it. It can be easily molded into appealing and
eye-catching shapes and tensioned fabrics can even be manipulated around
three-dimensional forms to create dramatic, curved architecture. Other uses
include draping to imitate walls, placing on the floor to define space, or
laying over tables to create a makeshift ‘stage’ or display area. The greatest
advantage of fabric based exhibition graphics is that they can be incorporated
into stands of almost any shape, size or design.
Installtion
Setup of fabric graphics is generally a
relatively simple process. Many architectural systems have been designed with
fabric in mind and enable them to be fixed using easy-to-attach fasteners such
as hook-and-loop tape and fabric-attached gaskets. Therefore installation and
dismantle is usually a breeze compared to hard surface graphic panels.
Logistics
Fabric can be folded or rolled after usage
for easy storage. In comparison to other exhibition materials such as canvas
paper or vinyl, it is compact and low in weight, which means less space
required for storage and lower transportation costs if you have to transport it
overseas or across the country.
Given
the versatility and aesthetically pleasing attributes of fabric graphics, it is
no surprise that they have become one of the most popular and demanded materials
used worldwide and are so extensively utilised in the exhibition and trade show
industry.
