Product Highlights of the EuroShop 2014

EuroShop is the world’s leading retail trade fair that is held at Düsseldorf – Germany every three years. This year's EuroShop provided attendees with a comprehensive overview of the upcoming important trends in the retail industry such as architecture and store design, lighting, shop fitting, product presentation, visual marketing, retail technology and exhibition stand construction and design.

There were many exciting and innovative products displayed at EuroShop 2014, and here are five cool products that stood out amongst the numerous offerings at EuroShop.

3D advertising by Magic Screen 3D
The incorporation of 3D visualisation into advertisements is becoming more popular in a bid to engage with an increasingly indifferent audience. At EuroShop 2014, Magic Screen 3D showcased the first true full HD display that is capable of delivering 3D advertising content without the need for glasses. This innovative product will enable retailers and exhibitors alike to deliver compelling 3D-without-glasses content that is sure to immerse customers in an impressive 3D experience and effectively capture their attention.

Cyberquins by ADM (UK) Ltd
Cyberquins by ADM are the full-size animated robotic mannequins in the world.  The precision engineered Cyberquins are able to imitate perfectly the movement of a slow motion human running, walking or cycling. They are used as moving shop window displays that attract attention through their smooth, realistic human movement. Cyberquins attract maximum attention to the clothing they display as well as the products around them. They create a dynamic entertaining animated display ideal for various environments such as retail stores, exhibitions, museums and theme parks.

IP Camera by Axis
The IP camera by Axis does much more than traditional video surveillance technologies that only protect retailers from theft. Video footage captured by Axis's IP camera can be used for business intelligence purposes as it can be connected to a computer network, meaning retailers can analyse the images captured by the camera. Retailers can integrate the IP camera with behaviour analysis software and deduce information about their customers, such as demographics, the route they take in a store, dwell time and customer flow. For example, an application can be used to map the most popular route customers take through a store. This can be used to decide where to place merchandise and thus maximise sales. It is also possible to integrate a surveillance system with queue management solutions in order to find out queue lengths and total checkout times. This can be used to balance staff levels during peak trading times and improve profitability. Therefore by leveraging video throughout the store, retailers can create solutions to optimise their merchandising, marketing, and business operations.

Soundbuoy by Sonic Chair & SONUS

Soundbuoy launched at EuroShop 2014 is a comfortable hemisphere chair with built-in surround-sound speakers. Users can connect their laptop to a pair of high-tech video glasses which enables users to sit completely immersed in audio and visual.

Elevender by Concept-s
The Elevender’s spectacle presentation and storage system with electronic control by Concept-s is an interactive display which simultaneously provides presentation of merchandise as well as full product information. Control of Elevender and retrieval of product information can be accomplished with either a tablet or a smartphone. With a tablet, customers can select the product they want to see and the shelf the product is placed on will move to the output hopper so that customers can take the merchandise out to try-on. Customers can also use their own smartphones to scan a QR code placed next to the Elevender and instantly retrieve product information.
